Upsilon Xi-at-Large is the Welsh Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI). The Chapter is currently affiliated with Swansea and Cardiff Universities and has members from across Wales, from the rest of the UK and even from other parts of the world. This website is the Chapter's means of communicating with its members. Chapter Leaders can post on the website, and all active members can read everything on the site. The links at the very bottom of the page will take you to the Virginia Henderson Library as well as other parts of the STTI site.
If you are just visiting our site then there are still lots of things you can look at and read. Why not have a browse and then think about joining STTI and the Chapter. Information on how to join is situated under the "OUR CHAPTER" tab.
The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) is pleased to announce that the board has appointed Professor Joy Merrell, PhD, MSc, RGN, RHV, to serve as the Europe regional coordinator. She will begin her term immediately and serve until elections at the next House of Delegates meeting during STTI's 43rd Biennial Convention in November 2015. Professor Merrell is replacing Thóra B. Hafsteinsdóttir, PhD, RN, who has been appointed to the international board of directors as a director.
We would like to give Joy and Thóra our very best wishes as they take up their new roles, and thank Thóra for all her work for the region up to now.
At the Royal College of Nursing congress in June 2014 Colonel Alan Finnegan was made a Fellow of the RCN. RCN Fellowships are awarded to RCN members who are registered nurses in the UK and who have made an exceptional contribution to nursing or health care.
Alan is a clinical nurse, soldier and academic who has used his professional and academic profile to develop and advance army nursing for the past 25 years.
